The objective of this Standard Operating Procedure of preventive maintenance of compactor is to outline the steps and guidelines for conducting preventive maintenance on a compactor to ensure its optimal performance, safety, and longevity.

SOP for Preventive Maintenance of Compactor

• OBJECTIVE:
  • To lay down the Procedure for preventive maintenance of Compactor installed in QA/Warehouse area.
• SCOPE:
  • This SOP is applicable to preventive maintenance of pumps installed in QA/Warehouse area.
• RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Technician/ Operator shall be responsible for proper execution of preventive maintenance as per SOP.
  • Engineering – Head shall be responsible for reviewing the SOP and for ensuring proper execution of preventive maintenance
• ACCOUNTABILITY:
  • Engineering – Head shall be accountable for proper implementation of the SOP.
• DEFINITIONS:

• PROCEDURE:
  • Preventive maintenance shall be executed as per the SOP No.: SOP/EN/XXXYYY – Execution of Preventive Maintenance.
  • Ensure that the spare parts are available at the time of preventive maintenance.
• Preventive Maintenance
  • Check the door handle for smooth operation and locked.
  • Check the railing for any damage.
  • Lubricate railing if required.
  • Check the wheel condition for smooth operation. Replace if required.
  • Lubricate the Chain and sprockets.
  • Checking shall be done half yearly ±15 days.
• Post Preventive Maintenance – Check List in preventive maintenance of Compactor.
  • Whenever any modifications and major works are carried out to the equipment, the same shall be mentioned in the equipment history card as per the respective SOP.
  • Ensure that the equipment is running smoothly, without any abnormality.
  • If any abnormality is observed in the above, same will be attended in co-ordination with User department Head.
  • Record  the preventive maintenance activity as per  the  format  No  : SOP/EN/XXXYYY  Preventive   maintenance   check  list  & record.
